MLK Architecture is leading the design of a new 18,000 S.F. Ambulatory Surgery Center in Florida for a confidential client. The facility will feature four operating rooms, (2) shelled for future ORs, pre- and post-operative recovery areas, two procedure rooms, a central nurse station, and supporting ancillary spaces. The design emphasizes efficient workflow, optimized spatial planning, and a patient-centered environment, creating a functional and cohesive surgical center that meets both clinical and operational needs.

Currently, there are more than 5,600 active Ambulatory Surgery Centers in the U.S. ASCs are high-quality options for patients in need of surgical procedures. Individuals may prefer them because of medical history, accessibility, cost, and other factors. Medicare and private insurance companies are utilizing outpatient surgery centers for a broader range of surgeries since they are proven to offer safe, convenient, and low-cost alternatives to hospital inpatient care.
