SCHOOL DISTRICT OF OSCEOLA COUNTY
Knight’s Point K-8 responds directly to the growing needs of the community, offering a solution that balances efficiency, performance, and future-forward design. Designed to support the expanding school district, the building incorporates advanced energy standards that enhance sustainability while serving as a dynamic educational tool through STEM programming. At the upper levels, flexible Career Technical Education (CTE) spaces provide early exposure to career pathways in business and information technology, while the lower levels are designed to foster an engaging, adaptable environment for younger students. This carefully calibrated design ensures that the school remains responsive to both the evolving needs of its community and the dynamic nature of modern education.

Through bright, vibrant splashes of color and asymmetrical tiling through the interior hallways to create interest as well as aid in wayfinding. The media center, cafeteria, and gymnasium are thoughtfully designed to foster community engagement. Modular furniture adapts to the diverse needs of students, creating a flexible and engaging space for collaborative learning and individual exploration.

Set within a soaring, light-filled volume, the gymnasium showcases an exposed steel truss system that adds structural elegance and ensures unobstructed sightlines. The space blends functionality with a modern aesthetic, creating an elevated venue for sports and community engagement. The campus acts as an emergency hurricane protection area (EHPA) shelter during emergency situations. This is achieved through a reinforced wing which tethers the gymnasium, locker rooms, cafeteria and food preparation areas, while remaining separate from classroom access.
